I loved meeting up with Elisa and Phil for their engagement session at the Harrisburg Capitol Complex and along the riverfront in Downtown Harrisburg.

When chatting with the two of them on the perfect location for their engagement session, they wanted something outdoors. Which outdoors in January in Maryland and Pennsylvania isn’t always the prettiest, only when there’s snow right? The Harrisburg Capitol Complex and riverfront felt like the perfect blend of elegant and casual.

A Not-so Hidden Gem

The Harrisburg Capitol Complex is a great option for your outdoor engagement session any time of year. The grand architecture of the dome along with the marble staircases and courtyards, make a perfect backdrop for romantic and timeless engagement photos.

And fun fact, I actually lived in Harrisburg, PA for a few years right after college where I started my accounting career. So I was so excited to see the city again after a few years away.

A Frozen Tundra

After a few weeks of frozen temperatures, we were met with an almost otherworldly view. The Susquehanna River had frozen over! It was such a cool sight to see. Luckily the day of Elisa and Phil’s session it wasn’t quite as frigid as it had been.

Gym Partners to Life Partners

Elisa and Phil met while both going to our gym Exile Fitness. They are both very successful in their disciplines. Elisa is a winning NPC Figure Competitor, while Phil holds multiple world records as a powerlifter. The two will be getting married in November 2025 at the beautiful Stone Mill Inn.
