This latest engagement session meant so much to me. Why, you ask? Because it was for my twin sister and her fiance! Jenny and Carl’s story is a very interesting one that started in the midst of Covid and lockdowns. They met through a mutual friend and their first ‘date’ was outside on Jenny’s deck. They hit it off and now are planning a wedding for next year!
We had scheduled a session for the two of them before they were actually engaged. They didn’t really have many nice pictures together and wanted to get some taken. Well fast forward a week or two and I get a text from Jenny of a ring! Carl had proposed on the mountains in Shenandoah National Park. Talk about dreamy right?!
So we pivoted slightly and turned their portrait session into their engagement session! Jenny and Carl chose to do their session at Cold Saturday Farm in Finksburg, MD. And boy oh boy is it a beautiful location! (I mean scroll down if you can’t wait for the pictures!) The Farm hosts weddings throughout the year and I would absolutely recommend it. There are so many beautiful spots on the Farm for photos. And the owners were so lovely to work with, even allowing us to stay on the farm a little after dark for some dreamy night photos under the lights.
Jenny and Carl were so fun to photograph (even if I am a little biased!). Once Carls’s nerves subsided (he literally stated “I’m so nervous!” when we started), the two enjoyed being with each other and making more memories together. The session was filled with so many laughs and intimate moments. I cannot wait to celebrate alongside them on their wedding day!
