“Though it may be raining and cold outside, there is so much warmth in this dining room” A sentiment that Amanda’s step-dad shared before dinner. And one that encapsulated Amanda & Austin’s day, which was one of warmth, love, intention, sentiment, laughter and joy. Read on for more from Amanda & Austin’s Silver Swan Bayside wedding.
The engraving inside Austin’s wedding band of an inside joke that stemmed from a night out when drinks were flowing. Austin told Amanda he was going to cuddle her all night… at a minimum. And then the rest of the night he kept saying “at a minimum!”
Sentiments from Amanda’s vows were evident during their first look and time together, like their daily 10 minute hug ending each day to keep each other grounded.
Any tension they felt prior to their first look seemed to have melted away with that first hug. I loved how they both took their time and not rushing through the moment to the next thing. Truly soaking up each moment throughout the day.
Their dog Duke joined them before the ceremony for a few pictures. And an unexpected romp around the beach. Where in true German Shepherd nature, he found a huge stick that he was so proud of. He simply wouldn’t let it go!
We had no formal first look with her dad or stepdad planned, because Amanda didn’t want to put them on the spot. Making them feel like they had to have a certain reaction. However, Amanda was aware of giving her dad and step-dad a private moment to see her before we got underway with family photos.
It was so thoughtful of her and their emotions were telling of how much it meant to them to have that moment.
“I promise to not grow taller so I always fit perfectly under your chin.” This was just a small part of Amanda’s beautiful vows to Austin. Many of their family members and friends could be spotted wiping tears throughout their heartfelt ceremony.
Amanda and Austin were intentional about how they spent their day, not wanting anything to be rushed or overwhelming or stressful. We built their timeline to allow for time to breath and moments to happen.
After their ceremony, rather than going right into portraits or cocktail hour, Amanda and Austin took a few minutes to themselves. Only when they were ready did we continue with their portraits.
When deciding on a song for their first dance, Amanda & Austin honestly couldn’t decide. Amanda told Austin “well I know what I’d pick for you.” So rather than struggling to choose just one, they chose to surprise one another with their song choice.
To Amanda’s shock, Austin, who is usually pretty bad at keeping secrets, kept this surprise under wraps. Amanda’s pick? Green Eyes by Coldplay. Austin’s pick? 28 by Zach Bryan
Quintessential Alabama Alumni opening the dance floor with “Sweet Home Alabama” with shouts of “Roll Tide Roll” echoing throughout Silver Swan Bayside. A great choice to open the dance floor and keep it packed the entire night!
