If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all of the ideas you see on social media, the number of decisions you have to make, or just even where to begin, you’ve come to the right place. Simplifying your wedding planning can help reduce stress and help you stay focused on what’s most important.
Here are some tips to help quiet the noise simplifying wedding planning for you.
Before you start booking vendors, the first thing you’ll want to do is to outline your priorities for the wedding. Decide, together with your fiance, what is most important to you for your wedding day. Is it the food? the photography? the florals? Once you’ve decided on your top 1-3 items, allocate your time, budget and energy accordingly. If it’s a priority maybe you do put a little more time and effort into finding the perfect match. If it’s a low priority item, keep that in in mind as you are making decisions.
A clear, realistic budget is huge! Finances aren’t always a fun topic, but it’s important to have these discussions to avoid over spending or going into debt. and stick to this budget! In today’s world filled with endless Pinterest boards and Instagram posts, its. easy to fall into the rabbit hole of ideas and trends. But too many choices can start to feel like a burden, your vision can get cloudy, or you may just stop making decisions altogether. Which we don’t want! Keep your options limited by creating a specific vision for your day with design style, theme, color palette, and overall feelings for the day. Refer back to this vision as you are making decisions to make things simpler and stay consistent.

Make sure you are allowing yourself time away from wedding planning. Don’t let it consume your life! Schedule date nights with your fiance where you aren’t talking about the wedding. Schedule regular breaks away from it all, and yes that includes scrolling through wedding content on instagram! It’s so easy to get caught up in all of the excitement, but don’t forget the real reason for it all in the first place.
It’s easy to get caught up in the details, but don’t forget that this day is about you and your fiance. Let go of any pressures you feel to conform to certain expectations or trends.
