Amanda & Austin’s Washington, DC National Cathedral engagement session

I loved meeting up with Amanda & Austin at the Washington National Cathedral in DC for their engagement session. The Cathedral grounds and gardens made for the perfect location for Amanda and Austin, combining the classic architecture with the beautiful gardens. Nailing their vision for a mix between laidback and elegant.

We were originally scheduled for an evening session but engagement photos in 97 degree heat and humidity…? No thank you! We pivoted to a morning session and the weather turned out to be perfect, before the heat became sweltering.

Genuinely I love morning engagement sessions in the summertime. Yes the start time is early BUT you will finish your session before the heat & humidity gets too bad.

And you usually have locations to yourselves. With the exception of a few early risers walk their dogs, we had the place to ourselves. Amanda and Austin actually went past the same spot a few hours later, and the place was packed with tourists.

SO if you’re considering any session in DC, I definitely recommend the morning. No need to make you feel uncomfortable thinking people are watching you right?!

Amanda & Austin have been together for more than ten years. It all started in Junior High when Austin spent a few years convincing Amanda to go out with him. And his persistence paid off. Amanda & Austin will be getting married in April at Silver Swan Bayside.
