Hampton Mansion Engagement Session – Abby and Aaron

One evening in late May, I met up with Abby & Aaron at Hampton Mansion in Towson, MD for their engagement session.

I love connecting with couples during their engagement session to get to know them. Abby and Aaron were no different! I loved connecting over a variety of things including our favorite restaurant, tattoos, and the gym.

To start, Abby and Aaron met when they both worked at An Poitin Stil in Timonium, which is one of my and my boyfriend’s favorite restaurants. They first connected over books on a particularly slow shift one day. Their connection for books carried over into the decor on their wedding day. It was such a great way to celebrate their connection and interests.

Aaron has a lot of tattoos so, as someone who loves tattoos and appreciates the artistry of them, we got to chatting. And I may have connected him to a new artist in the area since his has relocated. There is the sweetest story with one of Aaron’s tattoos but I’ll save that for their wedding day post.

And I just could not get enough of Abby’s vintage 60’s dress that she found on eBay. The skirt had so much movement and was so unique but also equally ‘her’. Her vintage style unsurprisingly carried over to her style choices for their wedding day for a unique veil that I had not yet seen.

There are so many reasons why I love photographing at Hampton Mansion, including the variety of spaces to work with from the greenhouse ruins, to the mansion and gardens. But what pushes it to the top of the list, is simply the way the sunlight moves throughout the property. The glints of the sunlight overtop the pines to the sunsetting behind the field, there is so much to work with and get those creative juices flowing.
