Old Ellicott City Engagement Session – Anna & Sam

Engagements & Anniversaries

January 30, 2024

I loved meeting up with Anna and Sam for their Old Ellicott City engagement session in January.

To say we lucked out with the weather is a gross understatement! The week leading up to their session, there were crazy gusty winds expected during their originally scheduled session time. And I’m talking 40-50mph wind gusts. The hairs would’ve been a little crazy. So, after giving them a few different options, they decided to simply move their evening session to the morning, before the winds were expected to start.

The night before their session, it was raining. And I was starting to get worried that we made the wrong call. And the wind forecast shifted to starting slightly earlier. I was getting a little anxious!!

But when I woke up in the morning it was simply cloudy. No rain! And could you believe that it was 50 degrees in the middle of January?! I was so shocked but we were all very much enjoying not freezing. As we wrapped up their Old Ellicott City Engagement session and both headed home, would you believe it started to pour?! I could not believe our luck!

Anna and Sam’s Old Ellicott City Engagement Session was a blast. We were able to avoid the crowds that usually come later in the day. And photograph in places that are iconic (hello train bridge!) and their favorite (oh hey E.C. Pops!). I loved the red accents from both the EC Pops truck and the infamous Ellicott City bridge.

Anna and Sam both met while working at a summer camp, then reconnected later through mutual friends. Old Ellicott City is somewhere they enjoy going themselves or with family, so when deciding on a location for their engagement session, it was only fitting to go to Old Ellicott City! They’ve been dating for four years and are tying the knot in June at McClintock Distillery in Frederick.

I can’t wait to celebrate with you both!
